Warmup: Meyer's six cuts example from the treatise on the Dusack. With longsword you end on the same foot that you started, so this passage can be mirrored on the other side.

Sunday rapier practice
Eleanor, Martuccio and Ludwig played at rapier to their mutual entertainment. Martuccio over-stepped, leading him to complain later of a sore rear-end, despite that it was Ludwig's getting kicked.

A three-coloured silk lace, based on this one (08.180.505) in the Metropolitan Museum (www.metmuseum.org).

We've been rehearsing hard for the last few weeks. For the next few, we'll be revisiting dances we used to know well but haven't tried for some time, and brushing them up for the ball.

Lace for Eleanor
Bobbin-lace made to decorate Eleanor Hall's new Venetian gown, in return for which she will make a brocaded tablet-woven band for the hat I bought from Samantha at Canterbury Faire.
